Found out today that I'm a runner-up in the Student Literary Awards at my university! My professor pulled me out in the hall to tell me! I was so excited...so was she...she hugged me! I love that woman! Love her!!!
Anyway, there's an award ceremony on April 3 that I won't get to read at but I'll get to go and accept an envelope...I think with a little money...maybe? I really don't care. I needed some validation. Especially with the poem that won. It was a piece that I felt wouldn't be accepted. It was my most authentic voice though. So to have that particular piece selected just makes me feel like my voice works!
Alright...enough.
Yay!
